Planning Interviews re: Program Review; Facility and Equipment Requests.
Functional planning teams will interview the division chairs regarding all the needs requests for
disciplines or departments in their divisions stemming from program review. These interviews will be
conducted to confirm the requests and identify the level of urgency and importance for each need.
Functional planning teams and/or functional area managers will provide additional information to
inform planning decisions. All the information provided, including summaries of program reviews,
division chairs interviews and input from the functional areas will be maintained in a database on the
network, accessible by any staff or faculty with a network login.
These interviews will be conducted in the near future. Items will be categorized. Discussed possibility
of electronically-generated work requests. Need to address methodology of classroom assignments
based on classroom needs vs. room availability; categorize room/facility according to subject being
taught. Need to determine what equipment is needed for classes/rooms to maximize teaching and
learning for students. Datatel consultant will assist the committee to develop a facilities master plan.
Discussion of equipment inventory; IT will be addressed by the TAG committee. There was a consensus
that the FPC needs to do what it can now, short-term, to respond to accreditation.
