October 21, 2011
Minutes
Meeting started at 1:12pm
Present: Justine Shaw, Shannon Sullivan, Hillary Reed, Ken Strangfeld, Rachel
Anderson, Angelina Hill, Erik Kramer, Clyde Johnson, Cheryl Tucker, and (on phone)

Reports:
1. Updates to web page – new documents and links continue to be posted
2. September 30 workshops – were well received; drop-in format worked well for
faculty with questions about assessment plans and program review forms
3. GE assessment progress – 23 sections have been selected to participate in this
fall’s pilot; Angelina has put together a Survey Monkey questionnaire to be used
in reporting, which will only need to have its outcome changed to be used each
semester; faculty participating will meet at the start of the spring semester to
debrief and share pedagogical tips to improve student learning
Discussion Items:
1. GE skills to include on a completer/leaver survey (Angelina Hill) – Angelina
presented a draft document; suggestions were received and Angelina said that
she would circulate these for future feedback (draft document attached)
2. November 18 meeting chair (Justine will be out of town) – Angelina Hill agreed to
chair this meeting
Action Items:
1. “Closing the Loop” form – a date and discipline field were added; Ken S. made a
motion to approve and Rachel A. seconded this; document was unanimously
approved
2. Updated 3-year plan for AC – Justine had posted this draft on the AC web page;
Cheryl T. made a motion to approve this, Rachel A. seconded this; document
was unanimously approved
Meeting was adjourned at 2:40pm

What was the main reason you have not continued with the degree or certificate
you were pursuing? [asked only to those indicating that they were pursuing a
degree/certificate].
-Didn’t have enough time for classes

-Financial reasons [I agree that this can be flushed out, but not sure best way]
