McMahon Foundation grant helps improve
Cameron University’s baseball facilities
Cameron University officials recently received a $40,000 grant from The McMahon Foundation of Lawton
to help improve the university’s baseball facilities.
The grant, which was approved by The McMahon Foundation Board of Trustees at their August meeting,
will be used to replace the outfield fence at McCord Field, home of the Aggie Baseball team, as well as
purchase an infield tarp and a new scoreboard.
“The university is grateful to The McMahon Foundation for their unsurpassed generosity,” said Jim
Jackson, Athletic Director. “The improvements and additions to McCord Field will better our facility for our
players and our fans.”
The newly refurbished McCord Field will be finished by the time the Aggies take the field in early February.
“It’s going to be an exciting year for Aggie Baseball. We are coming off a North Division Championship and
we are optimistic about this season with the return of quality players and the addition of some outstanding
recruits,” Jackson said. “The improvements to McCord Field are going to make this program even better.”
The grant continues The McMahon Foundation’s legacy of giving to Cameron University. Throughout the
past four decades, the Foundation has donated more than $13 million to Cameron, including a universityrecord $4 million for the Centennial Student Activities Complex in February.
