OF THE SCHOOL OF MUSIC
SCHOOL OF MUSIC
FACULTY AND ENSEMBLES
As director of the School of Music at University of Puget Sound, I am delighted to
Keith Ward, Director
welcome you to this concert by the Adelphian Concert Choir. Music has helped define
the uniqueness and distinction of Puget Sound since 1893, and the Adelphians have
been central to bringing recognition and renown to our program. Founded in 1932 the
choir is one of the longest standing and most beloved organizations in the history of the
university. For more than 80 years, it has given exceptional performances throughout the
Pacific Northwest. It is one of the foundations of a music program that offers multiple
degrees in music, a music minor, open ensemble auditions for all university students,
and lessons by specialists on all standard instruments and voices. To learn more about
us, talk with our students, quiz Dr. Zopfi, visit us on the Web at pugetsound.edu/music,
or come to our Tacoma campus for a tour!
It is both a pleasure and an honor to perform for you. Welcome and enjoy.

ADELPHIAN CONCERT CHOIR
Adelphian Concert Choir, founded in 1932, is one of four choral organizations in the School of
Music at University of Puget Sound. Members of the choir are all undergraduate students selected
through audition. Approximately half are music majors. The Adelphians have appeared by invitation
at the state, regional, and national conventions of both American Choral Director’s Association
and Music Educator’s National Conference, and consistently receive the highest acclaim for their
repertoire, interpretation, and musicianship. In addition to their numerous convention appearances,
they have appeared as guest artists with Northwest Sinfonietta, Tacoma Symphony Orchestra,
Tacoma Concert Band, and Tacoma City Ballet, Inc. They have presented several Pacific Northwest
Intermission
and United States premiere performances of contemporary choral works by composers from
Canada, Germany, and the United States.
