2. Status: GETF II (10 minutes)
John and Paula updates, with contributions by Eric and Leigh
SLOs as key. The words of the catalog can change but the SLOs are set in stone.
January meeting.
Not just about wordsmithing, but about substance.
Written and oral, could not be split apart.
Adaptability and interdisciplinarity, as problematic.
Cooperation and Compassion, as thick terms
Languages—computers, music, etc.
Cultural Competency vs. Language Competency
All Majors should seriously reevaluate their Four Year Plans, so that folks can better
decide if they are best served by being in that Major.
3. Status: Information Literacy Assessment, Fall 2014 (10 Minutes)
Faculty survey went out to CRWT and FYS. Number crunching can now begin. Closing
the loop is Convening Group based.
4. Status: Oral Communication Assessment, Fall 2014 (10 minutes)
Recording presentations at five classes, with 10 presentations from each class. Four
out of five are done. Syllabi audits still in process. SC will meet over the Winter.
Target is 80% will meet. Feb for Closing the Loop.
Adjuncts may feel pressured. Need to figure out a way to reassure Adjuncts that they
CAN say no to assessment.
5. Status: International Perspectives, Spring 2015 (15 minutes)
Qualtrix survey. Joint timeline for Intl and Interdiscip.
6. Status: Intercultural Perspectives, Spring 2015 (15 minutes)
Email went out.
Check email—Communication Plan—emphasize anonymous, no penalty for refusing
