a. St Adina’s Episcopalian Church Lay reader / Liturgist
Duties: I am assigned to read scripture lessons and conduct
liturgical reading during worship services. In addition, I am
asked to assist with serving of the Holy Communion to members
of the congregation. Finally, I am member of the Brotherhood
of St Andrew, an organization which enhances the role of men
as they strive to serve Christ.

Assist with the planning and implementation of spiritual
activities that affect campus worship. Provide spiritual

Duties:
Provide guidance to students who have pledged their
allegiance and support to humanity. Guide students as they
conduct their meeting and executes their different elected
positions. Assist with the interview and screening process for
new members.

Duties:
Provide leadership to a nonprofit organization which is
comprised of 200 past students of the Jamaica School of
Agriculture. The mission and purpose of this organization is to
provide scholarships to students who are academically
challenged and who wish to pursue academic pursuit in the
U.S. Planning and implementing different fund raising efforts;
selecting and awarding of funds to students based on needs,
qualifications, talent and skills.

served as volunteers (Nov 2011). I was the Faculty
coordinator and a volunteer.
Organized the Health and Human Performance students
"Career Options Fair"- April 4, 2012 (HHUPF Alumni came
back as presenters to provide insight to current students)
and was on the program.
Brookshire Boys and Girls Club- My Health Community
Planning class planned and implemented a Health and
Fitness Fun Day education project April 2012 with the
Brookshire Club and Jack and Jill of America (local club). I
served as the Faculty coordinator and a volunteer on the
day of the event.
Dr. Hobson has presented research sessions in the College of
Juvenile Justice and Psychology and serves as Secretary of the
University Faculty Senate (Fall 2012). Additionally, she has
served as a volunteer at Smith Middle School in Cy-Fair Public
School District. She has reviewed articles for the Urban
Education Journal and serves as a reviewer for the Journal of
Educational Foundations. Dr. Hobson serves on the following

His main community service comes in the form of the
Transportation Ministry at Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church
where he picks up and drops of senior citizens for church
service.
Community service activities include active engagement with
Cy-Fair ISD in a number of capacities. She served as
Homeroom Parent and Junior Achievement volunteer for
Moore Elementary. She served as Den 5 Scout Leader for Boy
Scout Pack 1626, where she helped to train youth in
responsible citizenship, character development, and selfreliance through participation in a wide range of outdoor
activities and educational programs. She also served the
district as a Global Volunteer, through the district's VIPS
program, which allowed her to volunteer on any campus
within the district as needed. In addition to serving Cy-Fair ISD,
Dr. Thompson serves on the Board of Directors for the Women
Former Students Network (WFSN) of Texas A&M University,
where she is currently serving as Chair of the mentoring
committee. Dr. Thompson also serves on the College Ministry at
her church, The Church Without Walls, which strives to increase
student awareness of college options and to also help students
make informed decisions on college selection. Lastly, Dr.
Thompson currently serves as a mentor for The Houston Club's
mentoring program, where her charge is to serve as a
confidante and provide career advice to emerging women
leaders. At Prairie View, Dr. Thompson currently served on the
President's Cabinet of the University's Annual Faculty and Staff
Giving Campaign. She is currently the Co-Chair of the Annual
Faculty and Staff Giving Camping and the advisor to the PV
Alliance of Black School Educators (PVABSE).
Over the course of the 2011-2012 school year, She provided
service to the PVAMU 2011 Tour de Pink fundraiser for breast
cancer research by providing counseling students an
opportunity to interact with children whose parents were

participating in the fundraising efforts. In addition, she chaired
the Waymon T. Webster Annual Professional Growth
Conference that provides an opportunity for nationally
renowned speakers to impact PVAMU students.
Involved with literacy at Lockhart Elementary School “Real Men
Read” that provides a reading program to elementary school
students. Journal Editor for Sage Open Journal and

Tyrone Tanner
Dr. Ross was awarded a $125,000 five year grant from the
Department of Education, Title III program to increase test
performance for school counselors.
The highlight of his service this year emerged when he was
invited to speak as a panelist to Texas’ state Congress June 19,
2012. His charge was to share his research surrounding
increasing parental involvement and teacher effectiveness.
In addition, he shared research on parenting and teacher
effectiveness with more than 25 community agencies. Much
of his research can be found in two books that he wrote this
school year, "Parent's Need Help Too-A Manual for Parents of
School-aged Children" and "Parenting When We Are No
Longer Together."
Danyale Taylor
He served on two community school improvement teams; two
education journals as editor and associate editor; multiple
Prairie View A&M University dissertations; and co-coordinator of
the 1st Annual International Leadership Conference.
She is the new National President of the Black College Dance
Exchange. She chaired a coalition of dance programs at
HBCU’s across the country. They meet once a year at our
national conference that is hosted by a different member
school. We go to Chicago State in April 2013. She is the
director of Classic Dance Ensemble. We work with kids at Shultz
Middle School teaching them dance. She sits on the Women’s
Council. They mentor young ladies on our campus and
sponsor events such as the annual Tea Party to teach them
about etiquette. She teaches a dance class every Thursday at
Brentwood Baptist Church to young girls ages 5-15. She
choreographs dance numbers for the Classic Dance Ensemble
to provide entertainment for participants and volunteers for
Tour de Pink.

Q2 Job Fair at RR Donnelley and Sons is an annual event.
Possible Missions is working closely with RR Donnelley, Fisher
Scientific and Energy Alloy to get our student applicants
placed.
