STRUCTURED CURRICULUM VITAE
Curriculum vitae will be assessed according to various categories and account for 10% of
the candidates ranking score. Information MUST be structured into these categories and
must at least include:
1. Education and Training:
1.1 All qualifications relevant to the medical field.
1.2 All specialty examinations should also be listed.
 Qualifications but must be stated along with issuing institution.
2. Employment history:
2.1 Various rotations should be listed.
2.2 Rotations in pathology including forensic pathology and RCPA Medical
Student Scholarship should also be included.
 Stage length of rotation as terms shorter than 10 weeks are not scored.
 Terms longer than 26 weeks will be scored to the maximum allowable points for
that rotation.
3. Publications and Presentations
3.1 Peer reviewed medical journal or book chapter
3.2 Presentations at various meetings including internal (hospital) or external
(symposia) meetings.
 Scoring only includes topics relevant to medicine.
 Title of conference, title of presentation and target audience must be included.
 Scoring only includes presentations personally given by the candidate.
 Scoring does not include hospital based meetings or morbidity mortality
meetings.
4. Research and Teaching
4.1 Only completed research project will be considered. Evidence of
academic achievement and scientific enquiry at an undergraduate level,
preferably with some experience in research or investigative projects.
4.2 Anatomy or pathology tuition.
4.3 Non-medical qualifications.
 Excludes research undertaken as part of qualifications scored above in Education
and Training section.
 Research projects must be completed at time of application.
5. Extracurricular
5.1 Volunteer work,
5.3 Positions on boards or committees.
5.2 Significant achievements such as awards, sporting achievements at a
representative level, business achievements, performing arts and music
should be described.
