Timely Warning- Larceny/Suspicious Person
Faculty, Staff, Students,
WCU Police are investigating a report of a larceny from the 1800 House in the Village. The description of the
suspect is a white male, approximately 35 years of age, short dark hair, tall, heavy set, wearing a gray shirt,
white hard hat, and safety glasses. He gained access to the building at approximately 9:00 p.m. on 10/27.
Suspect claimed to be a maintenance worker and was present to inspect floodlights and sprinkler heads. A white
Chevrolet Silverado Pick up may have been involved. A large photo was reported missing. Anyone with
information is asked to call University Police at 828-227-8911. We will keep you informed of any updates.
Our own facilities employees always carry official University identification and it is a good practice to request
identification prior to allowing entry.
