Function
Apolipoprotein B is a major protein constituent of chylomicrons (apo B-48), LDL (apo B-100)
and VLDL (apo B-100). Apo B-100 functions as a recognition signal for the cellular binding and
internalization of LDL particles by the apoB/E receptor.

Defects in APOB associated with defects in other genes (polygenic) can contribute to
hypocholesterolemia.

This Fast-Track antibody is not yet fully characterised. These images represent inconclusive preliminary data.
IHC image of Apoliporotein B staining in
human liver carcinoma FFPE section,
performed on a BondTM system using the
standard protocol F. The section was pretreated using heat mediated antigen retrieval
with sodium citrate buffer (pH6, epitope
retrieval solution 1) for 20 mins. The section
was then incubated with ab50069, 5µg/ml, for
8 mins at room temperature and detected
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed
paraffin-embedded sections) - Apolipoprotein B
antibody (ab50069)
using an HRP conjugated compact polymer
system. DAB was used as the chromogen.
The section was then counterstained with
haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

Immunoprecipitation of Apolipoprotein B,
using a Huh7.5 human hepatoma cell line
conditioned medium. The protein was
immunoprecipitated from 1.8 mL spent
medium, using 29µg of Rabbit polyclonal to
Apolipoprotein B (ab50069). A different
Apolipoprotein B antibody was used for the
western blot.
