PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

QMUZIK PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT IS A FEATURE-RICH

SYSTEM THAT SUPPORTS ALL INTERNAL SHOP FLOOR PLANNING

AND EXECUTION ACTIVITIES, WHETHER APPLIED FOR THE

PRODUCTION OF NEW ITEMS AND PRODUCTS OR WHETHER

RELATED TO MAINTENANCE, REPAIR, REWORK, UPGRADES OR

SERVICES. MULTIPLE TOOLS ARE PROVIDED TO SCHEDULE AND

CONTROL ALL ACTIVITIES, WHETHER DERIVED FROM THE

MASTER PRODUCTION SCHEDULE AND MRP-SUGGESTED

ACTIONS OR WHETHER RELATED TO PLANNED OR

UNSCHEDULED MAINTENANCE EVENTS OR ENGINEERING

DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS. COMPREHENSIVE TOOLS ARE

PROVIDED TO PERFORM PRODUCTION STATUS MONITORING

AND TO REPORT FEEDBACK ON PROGRESS.

Seamless integration with the other modules of Qmuzik ERP ensures that Production Manage-ment streamlines the production life cycle, improves efficiency of manufacturing operations and provides real-time visibility and management control.

Qmuzik Production Management delivers the scalability, openness and speed necessary for high volume factory automation and for reduction of manual production activity reporting. The Qmuzik ERP application architecture allows

Qmuzik Production Manage-ment to easily interface with programmable machines, SCADA systems; radio frequency

(RF) data capture devices and 3 rd party time and labour reporting systems.

 Document Management – a comprehensive document management module provides rich functionality to identify and classify both internal and external documents, to maintain document structures, to perform revision control and to distribute documents to the shop floor and to suppliers. Engineering drawings, specifications, instructions, manuals, procedures, policies and others can thus be identified and distributed with high visibility of distribution history and electronic acknowledgement of document receipts, returns or transfers.

 Repair and Refurbishment - a part or assembly can be built, repaired or refurbished using the same production facility, work centres and bills of material while special order types, pre-built "repair" routings and retrofit kits handle operational workflow and special accounting for repair and refurbishment activities.

 Order Linkage and Allocation - the online linking and allocation function allows production planners and schedulers to create and manage complex order dependencies. The system exposes standard items and alternate parts during shortage analysis, as well as contract pegging and related contract requirements and rules to assist the business process.

 Subcontracted Operations – subcontracted manufacturing operations can be automatically planned by Qmuzik MRP or, alternatively, shop floor managers can make ad hoc "make/buy" decisions at any point in the production process. Special "two-way" subcontract orders handle picking and shipping of outbound materials as well as inbound receipts for the subcontracted operation.

 Flexible Inventory Valuation – manu-facturing accounting can be set up to value items by applying either standard cost or one of the options for average/actual cost.

As a result, Qmuzik Production Management has been selected and implemented as the core manufacturing control system for some of the most highly automated, focused factories.

It is also a perfect fit for very complex manu-facturing processes where essential serial- and lot number tracking, contract identification, shelf- and working life management, quality assurance test pieces, by-products, dangerous goods or controlled items, complex bills of materials, routings and engineer-to-order environments exist with a high level of engineering change orders.

The system meets these challenges excep-tionally well and assists in managing engineering baselines and change control and to minimize obsolescence, retrofits and scrap.

Some additional features and functions of Qmuzik

Production Management are:

 Shop Floor Management Workbench - shop floor planners and schedulers enjoy extensive online inquiries that provide real-time visibility of production order status, progress and shop floor capacity load, with drill down to details for analysis and action.

WORKS ORDER LINE DETAIL

 Contract/Project and Priority Identification – The MRP functionality provides an inherent ability to associate production orders with specific customer contracts, contract priorities and defence priorities (DPAS), as well as contract specific requirements for quality, marking, documentation, substi-tution, QA pieces, Test pieces and others as defined at customer contract level and part number level.

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

MRP identifies replenishments for specific projects and can further identify the specific project element in a project WBS as a result of mapping the project WBS into the Bill of material hardware structure. This ensures that project ownership can thus be protected once items are received into stock.

This further extends to contract-specific bills of material and routings with excellent options to base the timing of engineering changes either on effective dates or on enditem serial numbers. The latter provides the ultimate solution since it is not influenced by the rescheduling of demand or supply.

 Flexible Post Deducting of Material and Labour - Material requirements are linked to manufacturing operations (in the routing) which makes it possible to post deduct

(back-flush) material and components from work centre flow racks or WIP stores (or back flush labour) when any quantity is yielded to inventory on a production order or when report-back is done on shop floor progress

Revision, Serial and Lot Number Control – all manufacturing and inventory functions automatically react to engineering specifications requiring specific part or model revisions and serial or lot number control on components, sub-assemblies and end items. Exceptional serial- and lot number tracking exists in the application with a detailed audit trail of the as-planned and as-built definition of every product. After shipping to the customer, the as-maintained definition can also be maintained via the Qmuzik Equipment Base module.

 Serial/lot number position annotation – In addition to serial- and lot number tracking, functionality is also provided to specify the installed position of components in a specific parent serial number and this can be maintained even after shipping as items are moved or exchanged during after-sales maintenance or upgrades.
