Call to Order by Kambrell Garvin at 7:00 pm
Roll Call/ Introductions

a. Clubs and Orgs Fair- Tuesday, September 4, 2012
i. During Common Time
ii. Please sign up at the front of the room after the meeting is adjourned
b. New Member Elections- Monday, September 10, 2012
i. Applications due by 5:00 pm on Friday, September 7, 2012!
ii. Eight seats are reserved for freshman and transfer students
iii. The process
1. Submit application and come in for an interview with the council
2. New members will be notified by that night
c. CSL Retreat- September 14-16, 2012
i. Retreat will take place at Montreat (about 2 hours away in North Carolina)
ii. Leaving Friday afternoon and getting back on Sunday afternoon
iii. Carpooling together
d. Member Installation- Friday, September 21,, 2012
i. Located in the Little Chapel at 2:00 pm
e. CSL Election Task-Force
i. Christine Counts-Davis appointed as Chair of this committee
ii. Leadership of CSL decided that a task force needed to be created in order to
evaluate the format of the student wide elections.
iii. Update will occur at January CSL retreat
Old Business
a. Convocation
i. Thank you to the volunteers
ii. New CSL informational board was created to be used at campus events
President’ s Report
a. 10th Winthrop Presidential Search Committee
i. What would you like to see in our next president?
ii. Kambrell is the only student voice on the search committee. He is dedicated to
listening to all student opinions. Please give him feedback!
Open Floor (Announcements/Questions/Comments/Concerns)
a. AKA will be hosting a freshman event for freshman girls in Wofford basement Tuesday
night called “Fresh Meat”
b. Alpha Kappa Psi will be hosting a rush week from September 3-13
c. Tomorrow at 7:0 pm in Owens G02 - SOAR will have first meeting of the semester
d. DSU has another full week of events
i. Tuesday 11:00 am decorate your residence hall event
ii. Wednesday and Saturday Dina’s Place will have movies showing
iii. Thursday at 8 in edge- first open mic night
iv. Friday is Salsa Magic
e. First Ambassadors informational session September 11th at 11:00 Joynes Hall
f. Winthrop CSL Twitter page! Help increase the followers!

h. SAC Week- Sept 11-14!
i. Kambrell- Who is not getting the emails from CSL?
i. College of Arts and Sciences open position on the council
ii. Please wear your name tags on Mondays!
iii. Please welcome Jennifer Resech! She will be serving as the SAC Administrator
1. Please encourage student organizations to request funds.
2. $30,000 is available
iv. Openings on Standing Committees of the university. This is the only way a
student can have a voice on these committees! Kambrell will send an email
about the committees that are not filled.

i. Monday and Wednesday 11:00-3:30
ii. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00-3:00 pm
