Let’s Party!

Dental Hygiene Assistant Lynne Grezek (left) helps student Leili Mashhadi of Glen Ellyn assemble a

"Birthday in a Bag" for the Humanitarian Services Project at the COD Cares Fall Day of Action earlier this week.

Click here for more photos. An estimated 1,200 individuals stopped by the fall kick-off, with 800 cupcakes enjoyed (one per person!) and several hundred bags of popcorn consumed during the event. More importantly, nearly 180 additional COD Action Heroes signed up during the event, bringing the total to nearly 800 Action

Heroes who will help with on-campus and community volunteer projects. The gourmet treats from Cupcakes for Courage were provided by a unique local bakery owned by a College of DuPage alum who shares the

COD Cares mission by donating proceeds to cancer research. Learn more about becoming an Action Hero at www.cod.edu/codcares .

Waterleaf Food & Wine Festival Serves 600 Guests

The weather was perfect, the wine was flowing and guests were smiling at the third annual Waterleaf Food & Wine Festival, which attracted more than 600 people to the College’s outdoor areas near the restaurant. In addition to 90 domestic and imported wines specifically selected by the family-owned

Heritage Wine Company, the event offered beer selections from local breweries, pastries and specialty pizzas provided by

COD culinary students, and food stations served up by

Waterleaf Executive Chef Nadia Tilkian . The first year’s event brought in 225 guests. Last year peaked at 400, with this year’s wine tasting pre-selling 550 tickets and welcoming 50 additional guests at the door. Click here for photos.
