behavior and smart choices.

Writing Workshop Model
It is an instructional model that views
writing as an ongoing process.
Students learn procedures for planning,
drafting, revising, editing, and publishing
their writing.
Students will be at various stages of the
writing process at the same time.
Collaboration with peers and teacher is
inherent in this model.

Language Arts- Reading Dublin uses a workshop model for reading.
•  Individualized based on need
•  Whole class mini-lessons
•  Work tasks(read to self, read to someone, listen
to read, word work, writing and poetry)
•  It teaches independence and gives children
the skills needed to create a lifetime love of
reading and writing.
•  The Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA)
may be administered to determine your child’s
reading level. Third grade levels range from 28
(beginning), 30, 34, 38 (end).

Math •  Build concept of numbers, developing an
understanding of fractions as numbers
•  Learn the concepts behind multiplication
and division
•  Apply problem-solving skills and strategies for
multiplying and dividing numbers up through
100 to solve word problems
•  Make connections between the concept of
the area of a rectangle and multiplication
and addition of whole numbers
•  Reason with shapes and their attributes
