READING
* The SUNSHINES shared their quilt squares to
communicate their traditions throughout the year. * WOW! WHAT A GREAT WEEK OF READING
WORKSHOP! WE HAD MANY POWERFUL
DISCUSSIONS AND SHARES OF HOW
READERS THINK. * After reading a variety of books about the first
Thanksgiving, we noticed how clothing, shelter,
getting food, and more are different from today.
We compared and contrasted the past and the
present. * WE CONTINUE TO PRACTICE READING
WORKSHOP ROUTINES. WE HAVE BEEN
WORKING REALLY HARD THROUGHOUT THIS
WEEK TO TARGET INDIVIDUAL LEARNING
GOALS. THE SUNSHINES HAVE THESE
GOALS VISIBLE IN THE CLASSROOM AND IN
THEIR READING BINS. ASK YOUR CHILD
WHAT THEY ARE WORKING ON. TECHNOLOGY
* We continue to write narratives and transfer
them onto Pixie.
WORD FAMILIES OF THE WEEK: REVIEW
SUNSHINE WORDS OF THE WEEK: DAY, GIVE
The Arts
* After reading Pharrell Williams’ book HAPPY, the
SUNSHINES used their imaginations to create an
object that displayed when they are happy.

persevering, communicating, and collaborating this
week.
