Eligibility Criteria
I.
New Students (entering freshmen and transfer students)
A. Criteria
1
Must be an ANE Major
2
Must have a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.00. (For the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
Scholarship, applicant must be a Texas citizen and for the Gov. Bill & Vera Daniels, minimum
GPA is 2.5 and a Liberty County citizen)

Must submit a separate completed application for admission and financial aid.

Must submit a copy of final high school transcript (freshmen students only)

Must submit an official college transcript (transfer students only)
6
Must complete and submit departmental scholarship application along with completed Counselor
Recommendation Form

Must submit a 500 word essay on “Why I chose to major in Agriculture, Nutrition, or Human
Sciences” (freshmen students only)
II.
Continuing Students
A. Criteria
1
Must be an ANE Major
2
Must have a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.00. (For the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

GPA is 2.5 and a Liberty County citizen)

Must be consecutively enrolled in 6 credit hours within the department of ANE with no grades less
than C within the department.

Must complete and submit departmental scholarship application

Must show proof of membership in a professional organization related to ANE.
