Position: Fisheries Technician (6 positions) 3-6 month duration.

Responsibilities: Technicians will be part of a crew working aboard 32-47ft. commercial fishing
vessels. Responsibilities include, assisting crewmembers with setting and
retrieval of gill nets and trap nets, assisting with removal of fish from nets,
identifying and measuring fish caught in nets and data recording. Assist
crewmembers with daily maintenance and cleaning of boats and nets. Typically
8-10 hr. work days, 6 days per week. Work may occur during periods of
inclement weather. Position requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Project
begins mid-late May.
Qualifications: At least 2 years of college education in fisheries or related field. Must have valid
driver’s license and pass a drug pre-employment screening.
