Forestry Technician
Forestry Technician Job Description: The Forestry Technician’s primary duty will be variable plot
cruising. The work is arduous in that the cruiser must cross-county hike and negotiate steep, brushy
terrain to establish sample plots.
Forestry Technicians may also help with forest practice boundary markings and other forest
management tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: Enrollment or acceptance in a Forestry, Natural Resources, or related program of
study is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required.
Dates of Employment: Summer 2014
Base Location: Mt Vernon, WA
Equipment and Provisions: All equipment necessary to complete an assigned task will be
provided by SPI, including company trucks. Employees must provide their own cruiser vest and
boots. A housing allowance is available to out of area employees.
Salary: Competitive
