APPLIED TECHNOLOGY
A. Distance Learning Request
1. IES
1052 Respiratory Protection
Due to language in the COR, the distance learning request for IES 1052 was approved contingent on the
revision of the COR. When the division submits the revised COR, the distance learning request will be
voted on at the same time.
B. Change of Grade Mode
1. Request that all Industrial Health and Safety courses be offered with a letter grade
option.
Questions came up regarding the WESTEC Industrial Health and Safety courses and the affect the grade
change will have on them. Also since most of the courses are less than one unit, how much of financial
aid is really affected? Mark will either meet with Kanoe and Sam regarding the request, or they can come
to the next Tech Review to discuss.

A. New Course
1. JRNL 1620 Introduction to Multimedia Reporting
The new course request for JRNL 1620 was approved to move forward to November’s Curriculum and
General Education meeting.
B.
Course Updates
1. ART
1710 Basic Photography
Clarification from the department regarding the need for this cross listed course is needed.
2. JRNL 1605 Reporting and News Writing
The course update to JRNL 1605 was approved to move forward to November’s Curriculum and General
Education Meeting.

The program update to the AA in Art was approved to move forward to November’s Curriculum and
General Education meeting contingent on the sequencing table.

Curriculum and General Education meeting contingent on the sequencing table.
III.
NEXT TECHNICAL REVIEW MEETING
The next Technical Review Committee meeting will be Tuesday, November 4, 2014 pending
proposed agenda items.
IV.
NEXT CURRICULUM AND GENERAL EDUCATION COMMITTEE MEETING
The next Curriculum and General Education Committee meeting will be Wednesday November
12, 2014 from 12:10-1:30pm in the Cougar Room. Note the day change due to the Veteran’s
Day Holiday.
