Meeting convened at 3:30 PM in 2200 Centennial Hall
Present: Eric Barnes, Melissa Bingham, Ann Epstein, Tom Gendreau, John Grider,
David Howard, Sergey Komissarov, Chia-Chen Yu
Excused: Laurie Kincman
1. Approval of minutes from 10/10/14 meeting (M/S/P 7-0-0)
2. Continuing discussion of steps APC can take to clarify processes for interdisciplinary programs/classes
• Scant details from UWGB procedures
• Ideas for new APC Procedures section focused on interdisciplinary programs
– Highlight departmental/college stipulations regarding support; personnel,
course offerings, supplies, equipment, etc.
– Important to note how teaching will be handled (workload sharing, team
teaching, course cross-listing)
– Should have plan for division of student credit hours – possibly related to
whomever is in charge of advising/directing program
– Identify contact individuals from each participating department; ideally
a single advisor/director and/or assessment coordinator as well; indicate
what triggers the granting of release time for advisor/director
– Setup a process by which stakeholders (departments, colleges) can revisit/revise previous memoranda; further discussion on whether to have a
“bottom up” versus a “top down” approach to handling revision disputes
3. Bingham will create template with changes to APC Procedures for all to see and
comment on
