Medics Treat ISU Student Who Inhaled Fumes
Woman Taken To Hospital As Precaution
DES MOINES, Iowa -- Emergency crews were called to Iowa State University
on Tuesday morning after a student inhaled nitric acid.
The accident happened shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Medics said the student was working on a chemistry experiment inside Gilman
Hall when there was a small reaction. That's when, they said, she inhaled the
acid.
She was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
