Committee on Educational Policy
In fulfilling its charge as established in the by-laws of the Berkeley Division of the Academic
Senate, the Committee on Educational Policy (CEP) carried out the following activities. The
chair of CEP during 2010-2011 was Professor Tom Goldstein (Media Studies, Journalism).

CEP reviewed and discussed the draft policy on self-supporting graduate
programs.

Undergraduate Online Courses
Committee on Courses of Instruction (COCI) Chair Kristie Boering
attended a CEP meeting to provide an update on COCI’s involvement in
undergraduate online courses.
•
UC Undergraduate Experience Survey 2011 Wild Card Module Questions
Executive Director of the Office of Student Research and Campus Surveys
Gregg Thomson attended a CEP meeting to discuss the UCUES. CEP
submitted questions regarding the Reading, Review, and Recitation week
to be used in the 2011 UCUES wild card module.

UC Berkeley Extension Activities
UC Berkeley Extension Dean Diana Wu attended a CEP meeting to
provide an update on Extension projects.
