The Vagina Monologues
Eve Ensler’s Obie-Award winning play, "The Vagina Monologues," is presented by
FMLA and the Women’s Center. This KU student production is performed in conjunction
with worldwide V-Day campaigns to raise awareness and funds for local anti-violence
initiatives. Proceeds from the KU event benefit Berks Women in Crisis and the VDAY
International Spotlight. Come and enjoy a night of celebrating women. Tickets are $5 for
students, $10 for all others, and can be purchased by cash or check at the KU McFarland

Research shows one year after graduation women earn just 82 percent of what their male
counterparts earn. Women on average earn just 77 cents to every dollar men earn. KU
women, learn how to begin your careers $martly, how to benchmark your worth, and how
to negotiate for an equitable salary! This is a limited seating workshop open to KU juniors,
seniors and graduate students. Dinner is provided. Register online at

The student group, FMLA, joins young feminist activists from around the nation to discuss
important issues such as violence against women, women’s rights, reproduction and health
issues, multi-cultural diversity, campus activism, and the environment. The Feminist
Majority Foundation sponsors this conference.

Clothesline Project
Rows of t-shirts provide a visual demonstration about rape and violence against women.
Survivors and friends decorate t-shirts as a way to express their emotions and tell their
stories of the trauma they have experienced.

Women’s Center Oasis
Take Back the Night
Survivors of rape, sexual assault, domestic violence, and sexual abuse come together to
share their stories on this one powerful night. FMLA encourages students, faculty, staff and
community members to celebrate the survivors with performances and poetry. A silent vigil
and march will follow, ending with a gathering in the Women's Center Oasis, Old Main 3.

Don’t Throw That Out
The Women’s Center is again collecting food, household and paper goods, linens, art
supplies, toys, toiletries, feminine products, baby supplies and new and used clothing for
local agencies. Please bring your donations to the Women’s Center Oasis, Old Main 3 from
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donation boxes are also located in all residence halls and on campus.
Where is the Love?
Are you looking for diversity training opportunities for your class, student group meeting, or staff
development? Please consider contacting the Women’s Center to schedule a presentation of Where is the
Love? This is a discussion-oriented presentation on sexual assault and relationship violence targeted
specifically for college students. Some of the topics covered include consent, definitions and examples of
sexual assault and relationship violence, the warning signs of relationship violence, victim blaming, and what
you can do to support a victim. Information on the HEART at KU 24/7 advocate program is provided as well as
information on how you can become a member of HEART at KU.

knit, crochet, color, draw or craft.

The Image: Happiness isn’t size specific.
Friday, 2 p.m.
Meditation: Practicing meditation has many benefits including improved focus, memory and energy,
increased productivity and creativity, decreased anxiety and an enhanced immune system. Join us for
meditation and learn to let your mind loose.
