I hope an email reply is sufficient. For ANTH 2306, we have done the following based on the
assessment results. Because I am on leave, I don't have all the data at my disposal (such as
specific assessment results and semester/year of implementation), but I think most of the changes
were incorporated in Summer 2012 and Fall 2012.
1. Based on assessment, we modified particular lectures (including the introductory lecture) to
emphasize important concepts more clearly and incorporated references to those concepts in
additional lectures to reinforce them.
2. We designed BlackBoard quizzes to target specific assessment questions/goals and make it is
easier to collect quantifiable data on assessment.
3. We modified the final exam in the course to target specific assessment questions/goals.
4. We made more explicit linkages between the lectures, readings, and films to stress the
humanities core assessment criteria.
