The Black Doctoral Network Conference is a platform for Black and Latino
scholars and professionals to present and collaborate on original research
topics across all disciplines. This year's theme, “Paying It Forward," focuses
on what the next generation of students, thinkers, and doers can do to make
an impact on local, national, or global levels. We welcome all abstract
submissions that can answer the question: How does your research
contribute to making an impact in this world?
WHY SHOULD YOU PARTICIPATE?
•If you are interested in pursuing a graduate or doctoral degree, the poster session
offers you a great opportunity to meet students and faculty from graduate programs
across the country as they view (and potentially judge) your poster
•Gain experience in presenting scientific papers
•Develop skills in effective communication for an academic audience
REGISTRATION & PRIZES
GUIDELINES TO SUBMIT
It is FREE to submit an abstract, however if
you are selected as a presenter, conference
registration is $125 for undergraduate
presenters. By registering you will have full
access to all conference events. First place
winner will be awarded $100 Visa gift card.
Second place winner will be awarded $50 Visa
gift card. Third place winner will be awarded
$25 Visa gift card. Winners’ names and
abstracts will be posted to the BDN website.
Abstracts may be submitted by juniors and
seniors from all racial and ethnic groups in all
disciplines on any topic. Previous accepted
abstracts came from the fields of education,
energy & environment, STEM, business,
sociology, and health to name a few. Abstracts
should be no more than 200 words in length
and include the title of the poster, issues
addressed in your work, theoretical
framework(s), and results/conclusions of your
research.
