Institutionalize the Making Visible pilot project to support institutional research, professional development,
information dissemination, learning support.
Expected Outcome:
In addition to supporting written, quantitative research, Making Visible will allow for visual qualitative and
ethnographic research to be created. By observing videos of their classrooms, of PLtl workshops, or tutoring
sessions, etc., instructors and instructional staff as well as tutors will be able to review the achievement of their
goals and make appropriate adjustments. Video information can be (as it has been during the pilot projects) to
a wide audience, both via DVD and on the web. Having the opportunity to closely observe students in action,
instructors will have a basis for developing appropriate learning support activities and programs.
