PART 4: Essay
Type a double-spaced, 1-page essay explaining the reasons why you believe you deserve to receive the
Scholarship. Be sure to mention how your PLP experiences have helped you, which campus leadership
positions you’re pursuing, and how you plan to be involved with PLP in the future. The letter should be
addressed, “Dear Scholarship Selection Committee,”. NOTE: financial need is not a consideration for
this scholarship.
Attach essay to this application.
PART 5: Recommendation Letter
Secure one letter of recommendation from a faculty or staff member who knows you well and can
describe why you deserve to receive the Presidential Leadership Upperclassman Scholarship. This letter
should describe your character and their interaction with you in classes/labs or campus organizations.
This letter should be addressed, “Dear Scholarship Selection Committee,”.
Attach recommendation to this application.
PART 6: Verification of Disciplinary Status & Signature
“I certify that all information contained in this application is true and correct and authorized the
exchange of all information among the Presidential Leadership Program Scholarship Committee,
Bloomsburg University faculty/administrators, and scholarship donors which may be necessary to
process my scholarship application. I understand that the awarding committee may cancel this award
if I am found to be in violation of state or federal laws, civil or criminal laws, and /or the Bloomsburg
University code of conduct and that I may appeal award cancellation to the University-Wide Scholarship
Committee. I have attached all materials specified in the award criteria for this scholarship and agree to
provide any additional documentation which may be necessary.”
