KUB Digital Signage Use Policy
Digital signage in the Kehr Union Building may be used solely for the purposes of:
1. informing KUB users of reservation and location information for events scheduled in the KUB,
2. promoting events that occur within or are hosted by the KUB, Program Board and CGA
3. Informing building users of emergency or important campus-wide messages from University
leadership.
Promotion of events in the KUB using digital signage is permitted:
1. If a reservation is hosted by the KUB and takes place inside the KUB (this includes the
amphitheater and patio).
2. If a reservation’s status is shown as CONFIRMED through the Kehr Union Building’s EMS
scheduling system.
3. Only by the contact person(s) for the event.
Promotion of events in the KUB using digital signage will be posted only if the contact person(s) for the
event submits promotional material(s) or promotional information to either Kristi Getty
(kgetty@bloomu.edu), KUB Scheduling Coordinator, or to Ken Dunlap (kdunlap@bloomu.edu), KUB
Media Services Coordinator.
There are two ways that event promotion materials can be created.
1. By the event’s group or contact person. This option allows the event coordinators to customize
the promotional image, flier, or video.
2. By the KUB digital signage administrator using language supplied by the contact person.
Submission of promotional information must be in text format and must include the EXACT
language to be used. The language will be overlaid onto a standard background image (similar
to a Microsoft PowerPoint slide). The digital signage administrator will not synthesize
customized event promotions.
Basic Information that should be included in the event promotion is the date; time, cost, and location of
the event as well as any requirements for entry (e.g. ID required, students only, age requirements, etc.).
Promotional materials must be submitted in digital format only. Physical or printed promotional
materials will not be accepted because these materials would need to be scanned into digital/electronic
format. Only three out of four KUB digital signage monitors display both visual and audio contexts.
Audio is disabled on the digital signage monitor located in the Fireside Lounge in order to provide a
quieter study/working environment for students.
