Enabling the
digital railway
The Enabling the Digital Railway Competition
was launched with Innovate UK to encourage
the use of innovative digital, ICT and satellite
application technologies, in order to address
challenges faced by leading rail organisations.
The aim is to use these challenges as a focus
for developing integrated digital solutions and
services.

Projects recently started under this
programme include an integrated multiinterface platform for smart ticketing to
provide seamless multi-modal travel, a rail
incident solution for mobile devices, and an
integrated station-of-the-future concept.
