The mission statements herein are the only mission statements authorized to
be used without prior approval of the board.
Texas Tech University System. The mission of the Texas Tech University System is
to provide leadership and support services for Texas Tech University, the Texas
Tech University Health Sciences Center, the Texas Tech University Health Sciences
Center at El Paso, and Angelo State University in the attainment of each component's individual mission.
Texas Tech University. As a public research university, Texas Tech advances
knowledge through innovative and creative teaching, research, and scholarship.
The university is dedicated to student success by preparing learners to be ethical
leaders for a diverse and globally competitive workforce. The university is committed to enhancing the cultural and economic development of the state, nation, and
world.
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. The mission of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is to improve the health of people by providing educational opportunities for students and health care professionals, advancing
knowledge through scholarship and research, and providing patient care and service.
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso. The mission of Texas
Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso is to improve the lives of people in
our State and our community by focusing on the unique health care needs of socially
and culturally diverse border populations through excellence in integrated education, research, and patient care.
Angelo State University. Angelo State University, a member of the Texas Tech
University System, delivers undergraduate and graduate programs in the liberal
arts, sciences, and professional disciplines. In a learning-centered environment distinguished by its integration of teaching, research, creative endeavor, service, and
co-curricular experiences, ASU prepares students to be responsible citizens and to
have productive careers.
