The “map above” shows elevation data (in feet above sea level) for a portion of land
opposite a granite mountain range. The 10,000 foot contour line conveniently marks the
edge of the granite outcrop. The rest of the map is sediment.
Your task: Make a contour map using the elevation data provided. Use a 100 foot contour
interval. I will show you how to contour maps during the lecture in which the assignment
is distributed. Then answer this bonus question:
1) What kind of sedimentary rock(s) will probably form at the position marked by “A”?
