Recent Activity:
• 11947 Daily dark monitoring (after Oct 19 dark monitoring via 11417)
• 11408:3 281:11:17 PAM Tilt measurements NIC1/NIC2/NIC3 (Thu Oct 8)
• 11410 292:14:08 Aperture Location NIC1/NIC2/NIC3 (Mon Oct 19)
• 11416 Thermal Background started Mon Oct 19
• 11417 Dark Monitoring and Detector Reaqd Noise started Mon Oct 19
Planned activities:
— 11408:4 Update of nominal PAM Tilt settings visit 8 (TBD)
— SIAF update (if needed) following analysis of 11410 (A. Koekemoer)
— 11416 Thermal Background. Parallel observations to continue until ‘sufficient’
number of visits have been obtained (≤100)
— 11417 Dark Monitoring and Detector Read Noise continue until regular cal starts

Recent Results
Distribution of dark current (total) for the difference
image (75 – 72.4, 76 – 72.4 & 75 – 72.4).
NIC1 & NIC2:
@ 76K: mainly an increase in the high current tail.
@ 77K: An overall shift of the dark current to higher
levels, plus an increased tail.
NIC3:
@ 76K: marked increase in the high current tail and a
slight shift in the overall level
@ 77K: increased tail and overall shift towards higher
dark current.

Quantifying the warm dark current tail:
