THIS WEEKEND: Our at-the-door collection to underwrite lunches at St.
Francis House Day Shelter in Boston is this weekend. Will you be their lunch Valentine???
WOULD YOU CARE TO JOIN THE ICE CREAM CLUB?
Each month, a group of dedicated
parish volunteers serves dinner at Shattuck Shelter, including the wonderful desserts that are provided by
members of the parish community. Dinner is topped off with ice cream – a real treat for the Shelter Guests.
We’d like to enlist the help of parish individuals/families to underwrite the cost of one ice cream “order.”
That cost is $80. If you’d like to do this, please contact Sr. Diane by phone or email – 617-552-6107 or
vallerio@bc.edu.
SOUP AND STATIONS, LENT 2008: This year, we’ll be joining Newton parishes in sharing soup
and bread and in praying the Stations of the Cross on Fridays during Lent. Soup is served at 6PM in the
lower level Parish Hall at Corpus Christi Church, Ash Street (off Commonwealth Avenue) in Auburndale.
Stations begin at 7PM in the upper church. St. Ignatius is responsible for the soup-making and the
presentation of the Stations on February 29th; our sixth through tenth grade Faith Formation students will
be the cooks, servers and prayer leaders.
TIME TO START PREPARING! It may seem way down the road, but the Project
Bread Walk for Hunger, on Sunday, May 4th, is not really so far away! We’ll be receiving
registration materials in a few weeks, so keep checking the Outreach Table in the
gathering space. And online registration is now open (www.projectbread.org); TEAM
IGNATIUS is set up and waiting for members! Let’s aim to help Project Bread celebrate
the 40th Walk in a big way!
