HIRARC is one of the principles used in workplace to manage safety and health.
Section 15 (2)(a) of OSHA 1994 has stipulated that “the provision and
maintenance of plants and systems of work that are, so far as is practicable, safe
and without risks to health”

COURSE OUTLINE
OBJECTIVE
At the end of the course, the participant would be able to:
 Understand different types of hazards that are present in the
workplace
 Learn how to effectively identify hazards at workplace
 Understand the main occupational hazard groups and the
health risks that certain workplace hazards pose
 Evaluate the risks associated with the hazards and make
recommendations to eliminate or reduce them
 Determine the appropriate hazards control measures and
assess the effectiveness of the control measures taken
 Appreciate the importance of hazards identification process as a
means to avoid accidents in the workplace
