HARVEST THE JOY - ST. IGNATIUS WEEKEND CELEBRATION
Plans are under way for this exciting event, an opportunity to get to know our
parish, the people, and how we can share our faith. It’s less than a month away
and we’re missing one part to make it a success – you! We hope you will be a part
of this wonderful parish weekend. Whatever time you can give, we can use your
help. All skill levels needed: Set-Up/Clean-Up Crew, Computer Techies, Crafts
and Activities, Food Set-Up/Clean-Up, and Pick-Up Desserts. Please fill out a
form and sign up at the back of the church. You can also volunteer by contacting
Catherine Downing at cfdesq@hotmail.com or 617.782.5812.
BUILDING A HOME IN MAMRE, CAMEROON
The parish is very blessed to have the presence of Fr. Maurice Ashley with us as he completes his
Theology studies. Most of us have benefited from his beautiful preaching, singing and celebration of the
Liturgy. Fr. Maurice and his family are trying to build a home for their "mum" in Mamfe. Their resources
are very limited and we are trying to help them reach this goal. If you would like to contribute to
building a home for Maurice's Mum in Mamfe, you can make a check to the parish with a notation for Fr.
Maurice. He promises he will sing for all of us his great gratitude.
MUSIC MINISTRY AT ST. IGNATIUS
As we look forward to September and the return of our music ensembles, we invite any interested singers
and instrumentalists to contact us about participation. Music Ministry information is posted on the
Church Bulletin Boards, as well as on the Parish Website under the “Ministry” tab. Those interested can
also contact Music Director, Michael Burgo at 627-552-6108 or burgo @bc.edu.

PRESIDENT BENIGNO AQUINO III, PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES VISITS ST. IGNATIUS
AND BOSTON COLLEGE.
On Sunday, September 21st, St. Ignatius Parish is honored to host for Boston College a special, by
invitation only, Mass for the Philippine Community for President Aquino's visit to the University. This
event will have a significant impact on parking for us, both in the morning, and in particular, the hour
leading up to the Mass at 3:00 p.m. We hope this information helps you plan accordingly to allow ample
time for parking in the areas made available for us nearby when heading to Mass. Also please note that
the Jimmy Fund Walk is happening that day as well. More information is forthcoming as we draw closer
to the date.

cope with holidays, care for ourselves and create meaningful changed lives in the context of our Christian
faith.
A second series is planned for the Spring.

FAMILY MINISTRY: PARENTS OF LITTLES GROUP
There will be an informational meeting for families interested in forming small playgroup/faith sharing
groups following the 10AM and 5:30PM masses on Sunday, September 21 in the
Friary Room. The vision for the groups is to form sharing groups of 3-4 families,
depending on children’s ages, for a home-based, monthly gathering. The focus would
be to provide social, emotional, and spiritual support to new parents; and provide young families with an
opportunity to reflect on faith, vocation to married/family life and early catechesis. If you would like
more information please contact Leah Perez at lmtperez@gmail.com.

Fraternalmente,
Padre Bob
