HOUSING NEEDED FOR STUDENT STUDYING AT BC SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY
A religious brother from India is seeking room/board in exchange for household work while he studies at
BC. Contact Fr. Bob if you are interested and/or you are looking for live-in assistance.
BOOK DISCUSSION
On Sunday, June 7th at 11:15 in the parish office, there will be a discussion of Marilynne Robinson’s book
Home. According to Publishers Weekly, Robinson’s novel, a companion to her Pulitzer Prize-winning
1
Gilead, is an elegant variation on the parable of the prodigal son’s return. Where the Biblical story ends
with the prodigal’s return, this story takes up the narrative of the relationship between the siblings, the
prodigal’s relapse and the effect on their aging father. As the reviewer suggests "Robinson stakes a fierce
claim to a divine recognition behind the rituals of home.” Please feel free to join us for a discussion of this
novel on June 7th.
TEILHARD DE CHARDIN - A JESUIT VISIONARY
All are welcome to an introduction to the life and thought of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, SJ. It seeks to
illuminate Thomas Berry's opinion that he is the fourth major thinker of Christianity after Paul, Augustine,
and Thomas Aquinas. And it seeks to stimulate interest in Sister Ilia Delio's thinking that he continues to
be relevant to the Church, perhaps even critically so, sixty years after his death. The talk will be given by
Peter Weston, St. Ignatius parishioner, May 31st 11:15 in the Choir Media Room.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Looking for some part-time work? Here’s a chance to help out the St. Ignatius Community and earn a little

community and for some secretarial work at the front desk in the parish offices. For more information and
to express interest, please contact Reenie Murphy, the Parish Administrative Assistant at 617-552-6102 or
ignatius@bc.edu.

35TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE MARTYRDOM OF WOMEN IN EL SALVADOR
2
For 35 years, SHARE has been accompanying the people of El Salvador while they fight for their rights to
truth, justice, sovereignty, and sustainability as did Ita Ford, Maura Clarke, Dorothy Kazel, and Jean
Donovan. We have helped develop youth and women leaders, pushed for anti-violence legislation,
provided tools for communities to lift themselves out of poverty, and invested in women’s education. And
we won’t stop. Help SHAR keep alive the spirit of these four great martyrs by supporting our work
through a gift to our general fund or Legacy Fund.
SHARE and LCWR are inviting women religious and lay women and men to join us on a special
delegation to El Salvador November 28 to December 5, 2015. One itinerary highlight includes a pilgrimage
to the martyrdom site of the four women to hear first-hand testimonies by people who knew them.
SHARE has spearheaded the initiative to declare this site a national historic monument and is working to
make this effort come to fruition during the pilgrimage. Another highlight includes a visit to the
martyrdom site of Archbishop Romero and the Memorial Wall. You will learn about the root causes of
migration to the US and the current challenges impoverished communities face. You will visit and support
grassroots movements of women, human rights defenders, and mothers of the disappeared. Cost is $1,200
plus airfare. Partial scholarships and group discounts may be available from SHARE. For more
information about our work, please visit SHAR ’s website at http://www.share-elsalvador.org/ or
contact Jose@share-elsalvador.org, tel. 510-848-8487
Congratulations to Belinda "Catherine Luke" Nwagbara who was baptized on Pentecost Sunday at
the 10:00 am Mass. She eagerly met the waters of Baptism headfirst and proceeded to be confirmed
and anointed with her chosen names of Catherine Luke. Belinda addressed the whole congregation
when she shared how important these sacraments were to her and her intention to continue being a
disciple for Christ as she moves on to medical school in Granada.

HELPING OUT THOSE IN NEED: We are all aware of the fact that utility, food and fuel costs are
continually on the rise. As a parish, we want to be prepared to assist persons who
come to the Parish Office seeking help to provide food for their family. You can be
of help by donating $10 gift cards from Stop & Shop or Shaw’s/Star. Your past
donations have carried us through the winter, but right now, we’re almost of out
cards. You may bring your donation to the Parish Office or just drop it in the
collection basket on the weekend. Thank you!

La Página Hispana
Queridos Parroquianos,
corazon ‘Santo, Santo, Santo’.
ue abraza tambien a mis projimos.
Padre terno, confirmame Hijo terno, confi rmame
confirmame un solo ios, confirmame.
spiritu Santo, confirmame Santa rinidad,
Sobre textos del Padre Arrupe S.J.
Que la bendición de Dios quien es Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo descienda sobre ustedes y los llenen con
su amor divino.
Padre Bob
