Abstract
About a decade ago Eta Car’s brightening rate was suddenly accelerated and so far it’s
far more brightened in the near-UV.Also between 2003 and 2010 the stellar-wind emission
lines weakened by factors of 2 to 4 implying a rapiddecrease in its mass loss rate. The recent
secular changes are much stronger in the UV than at optical wavelengths and that’s what
we are going for.
