Exam 1 – Second Chance
What is this?
● This is another chance for you to improve and demonstrate your understanding of the course material.
● You can resubmit one problem of your choice from Exam 1.
● You must redo all parts of the problem you resubmit.
● No partial credit will be given for these resubmitted problems.
○ If you correctly answer all parts of your resubmitted problem, then half the points you missed on the
problem will be added to your Exam 1 grade.
○ Otherwise, you will keep your original Exam 1 grade.
Rules on collaboration and allowed materials
● No collaboration allowed. All work must be your own. You may not discuss this exam with other midshipmen.
● You may use your course materials (i.e., notes, homework solutions, quiz solutions, textbook).
● You may use your calculator.
● You may not use any other materials.
Instructions
● This second chance is due at the beginning of class on Friday 26 February.
● This second chance is optional.
● Complete the problem you want to redo on a separate sheet of paper.
● Show all your work. Your answers should be legible and clearly labeled. It is your responsibility to make sure
that I understand what you are doing.
● Sign the honor statement below in ink.
● Staple together and submit the following items in this order:
1. This sheet
2. Your original exam
3. Your redone problem
