Description of Work: This position is responsible for scheduling and transporting
clients to appointments for medical and psychological needs and transporting children
and families to and from visits. Supervising visits with children and their family as
advised by the courts or requested by a social worker and documenting observations.
This position may also testify in court. This position will be a Certified MAPP and
Shared Parenting trainer. Recruit and train potential foster and adoptive parents.
Teach foster families and staff shared parenting. Assist clients with household
management, utilizing community resources, employment, looking for housing or
remedying evictions, money management, food preparation and safety issues, hygiene
issues, home cleanliness, organizational skills, address unsafe living conditions and
basic life skills. Organize permanency planning meetings, organize child protection
team and child fatality meetings, organize and calculate foster parents monthly
payments and update foster parents information book. Help social workers schedule
and coordinate times and dates for family team meetings as well as act as facilitator for
the meetings. MUST HAVE A FLEXIBLE AFTER HOURS SCHEDULE.
Education and Experience: Demonstrated possession of knowledge’s, skills, and
abilities gained through two years of experience in performing similar instructional and
community placement tasks; or graduation from a two-year associate degree program
designed to prepare support personnel for human services agencies which includes a
six month practice/internship in a similar setting (one year of the above experience may
be substituted for the practice).
