My fascination with circles started as a child. I would draw lines on my fan to watch the lines turns into
circles. I collected marbles, and would make bubbles from soap. All of are spherical shapes, beautiful and
perfectly round, also transparent and delicate spheres.
These childhood interests have a strong influence in the imagery of my art. Juxtaposing elements within
my pieces, such as a delicate lace pattern with the raw energy of my splatter circles, I try to keep my art
aesthetically appealing while still retaining simple imagery. In the midst of making these artworks, I let
my mind wander. I have no pre-set plan, no conscious plan for an outcome; I truly let my sub-conscious
take over. A main component in all of my imagery is using transparent layering of colors. The result is
that the overlapping layers merge into new colors creating depth.
