Senior Food Service Accountant Specialist Business Services Chief Finance Officer

JOB GOAL

To assist the Chief Finance Officer in the maintaining, balancing, and analyzing of the Child

Nutrition Services accounting records of the district, preparation of Child Nutrition Services annual financial and cost reports, and compliance with State and Federal accounting rules.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.

2. Five (5) years experience in accounting.

3. Thorough knowledge of specific regulations regarding accounting for USDA Meal programs.

4. Ability to perform the functions of the position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To assist with operation of accounting and payroll departments.

2. To prepare all bank reconciliations, maintain related records, and serve as bank liaison as needed, specific to the school meals program.

3. To be responsible for depository reports, specific to the school meals program.

4. To maintain general ledger for all funds, specific to the school meals program.

5. To assist with the accounting for grant funds, including monthy reporting and budget review as it pertains to the school meals program.

6. To prepare the monthly school and district office financial statements, annual profit/loss statement for the school meals program.

7. To oversee procedures, recordkeeping, and assist with audits if school internal accounts as related to the school meals program.

8. To prepare the annual cost report.

9. To conduct various audits as related to the school meals program.

10. To help monitor and maintain compliance with applicable accounting rules and regulations as related to the school meals program.

11. To analyze various operational aspects and make recommendations for improvement. kmc1104
