To serve as a coach for pre-service teachers and collegial mentor to school staff.

Bachelor’s degree or higher
Valid Florida certificate
Three (3) years successful teaching experience
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with parents, students, community and
colleagues.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*1.
To survey staff development needs and meet identified needs through coordination of
inservice and staff development offerings for site-based staff development program.
*2.
To work with Genesis Teacher Education Project in its planning, development and
evaluation stages.
*3.
To assist with school improvement activities as they relate to staff development and
increased student achievement.
*4.
To attend meetings of the GATE On-Site Coordinators and work cooperatively with that
group.
*5.
To work with the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Liaison as the school contact person
to facilitate the Clinical Education/Peer Coaching model to teachers.
*6.
To assist the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Liaison and Principal in the placement of
FAU students for practicum experiences.

*7.
To serve as a coach for pre-service teachers and clinical instructors or pre-service teacher.
*8.
To serve as a collegial mentor to school staff through training in and strategies related to
the school project focus.
*9.
To schedule and chair monthly meetings of the GATEWAY and Genesis Teacher Teams
at the school site.
*10.
To oversee the completion of “exportable products”/classroom action research for
submission to the GATE office.
11.
To perform assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
12.
To perform assigned tasks with a high standard of quality.
13.
To collect state required data and complete the site DOE reports with th FAU liaison for
submission to the project director in a timely fashion.
