Biographical Note / Historical Note / Administrative History
Dr. Audrey M. Finn was a professor of home economics and member of the Ball State University faculty
from 1965 until 1995. She was an alumnus of Purdue University where she earned her bachelors, masters,
and phd in home economics. She served on the Indiana Home Economics Advisory Committee and
received a number of grants to conduct district workshops for home economics teachers and in-service
training sessions designed to enrich the teaching of professionals in the home economics field.
In 1983, Dr. Finn was chosen to receive the Indiana Home Economics Association honor award. She
was cited for 'her significant contributions to the field of home economics' at both the state and national
levels. She was recognized for having 'made significant contributions to the quality of home economics
education in Indiana through participation in numerous in-service workshops and projects in consumer
education, nutrition, and aging."
Dr. Finn passed away on February 20, 1995 and is commemorated through a scholarship program with
the Ball State Department of Family and Consumer Sciences named in her honor.

This collection includes one scrapbook from Dr. Audrey M. Finn from the Ball State University
Department of Home Economics ranging from 1994 to 1995.
