Minnesota Multicultural Leadership Mentoring Program (MLMP) through the Office for
Multicultural and Academic Affairs, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN. Responsible for
developing the program, fund raising (so far brought in $125,000+ for this program), training all
the mentors, pairing up all the mentoring teams, creating and implementation of the leadership
retreats, and other aspects of the program.

Student Personnel Worker, Chicano Latino Learning Resource
Center, Office for Multicultural and Academic Affairs, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis,
MN.). Responsible for assisting students in making the transition to the University of
Minnesota. Support students from the Chicano Latino community in navigating the large
University community in order to aid in their retention and graduation. Create opportunities for
them to learn about career options, and possible options for graduate school. Work with a
team of others to support all multicultural services.
1998- 2000
Program Manager for the Monroe County Head Start Program in
Monroe, MI. Responsibilities included organizing and implementing for county wide Mental
Health and Disability services for the Monroe County Head Start Program; setting up
intervention and evaluations for Head Start students and their families. Supervision of a staff of
twenty-five teachers, family service workers, and classroom assistants for two of the counties
six head start locations; directly responsible for day to day operations in these two sites and
jointly responsible for the whole program in collaboration with a team of three other program
managers.
