Currently I am student teaching at Blackmore Elementary School in Nowhere, Illinois and am
interested in obtaining a teaching position in your school for the fall semester. Enclosed are my
resume and a list of references for your consideration.
In my current position I am teaching a class of 35 fourth grade students of diverse backgrounds
including Behavior Disorder children. In my teaching I have been able to create engaging
activities in lessons that correspond across all curricular subjects. By incorporating cooperative
methodologies I have been able to foster the students’ team building and socialization skills. By
promoting a respectful learning community I am able to manage my classroom and develop the
students’ self-behavior skills. During my “pre-service” teaching experiences I taught in a variety
of classrooms including a self-contained class of 12 BD and LD students. All of my teaching
accomplishments have met the goals established by The Illinois State Board of Education. In
addition to my teaching experiences during the summers I coach baseball for a mixed league of
teenage girls and boys and am interested in coaching opportunities in addition to teaching. I
believe that my teaching and coaching experiences combined with the strong theoretical
foundation from my studies have well prepared me to be a successful professional educator.
