During the 2013-14 school year, the stage was set for program design by identifying what we are doing and
what we are doing well, and by establishing a baseline of knowledge regarding the following:

 Programs of study;
 Technical skills assessments;
 Articulated college credits;
 Minnesota Common Core competencies, and
 21 -century learning skills.
During the 2014-15 school year, the program design process continued by:
 Identifying pathways within each department;
 Unpacking standards and measures from the Minnesota Common Core competencies to determine
essential learnings in each course;
 Writing learning targets for the essential learnings;
 Cross referencing learning targets with Technical Skills Assessments and Articulated College Credit
course objectives;
 Utilizing work done to develop each course to determine capital outlay requests;
 Updating articulated college credit process to utilizing CTECreditMN.com, and
 Reviewing and revising department Beliefs and Goals to present to the School Board.
CIAC members were asked to review the draft of the Beliefs and Goals for all the curriculum areas listed
