DNA History Project
The goal of this project is to create a timeline that tells the story of DNA discoveries.
We will make a timeline that will be posted in the classroom above the back whiteboard.
A. Each student will make a 2 page document (Use Microsoft Word or PowerPoint) that includes the details
below.
a) Make it big enough to read from a distance.
i. Minimum font is 40pt.
ii. If it won’t fit on 2 pages in 40pt font, you wrote too much.
iii. Headings (Names and dates) should be larger than 40 pt. font.
iv. Fill the ENTIRE 2 PAGES
v. Cover the information you need to and then maximize font size
b) The scientist’s name
c) Where did they study and do research? (College, University or Company)
d) What was this scientist’s major contribution to what we currently know about DNA and Genetics?
e) At least 1 diagram of their contribution.
i. This can be a significant figure, picture, research map or model that hangs on the wall.
ii. It must hang from the wall.
iii. This visual aid is something to help this learning stick.
iv. You can find it on the web build it or draw it on the pages of you want.
v. It must be in color. If you print from the computer at school you can color it.
