(If yes, please list) Yes No Date Received PART 2 –on next page must be completed Yes No Winter PERFORMANCE-BASED SCHOLARSHIP THEATER DEPARTMENT APPLICATION FORM – Part 2 PART 2 The purpose of the Academic and Performance Based Scholarship in the area of Theater is to attract, reward and retain new students in the areas of acting or technical theater. The Muskegon Community College Theater Department wishes to give recognition to those exceptionally productive and talented actors or technicians who are considering entering our program. Prospective students must meet the following requirements to be considered as a candidate for an award: 1. Maintain a “C” cumulative grade point average for all high school and college classes 2. Be accepted as a student at Muskegon Community College 3. Complete the PBS application, a letter of recommendation from someone familiar with your theatrical work, and submit the application and letter to the Director of the Center for Theater 4. Schedule an appointment with the Director of the Center for Theater 5. Audition/Interview for scholarship with the Director of the Center for Theater AUDITION/INTERVIEW: All prospective candidates are required to audition/interview for the scholarship. Acting Requirements: Present a monologue that is memorized and 2 to 3 minutes in length. Prepare a list of your performance experience Technical Theater Requirements: Prepare a list of your technical theater experience along with your skills or special training related to theatrical production. Bring examples of your work if possible. Once awarded a scholarship, the student must meet the following criteria to retain his/her scholarship: Successfully complete a minimum of six college credit hour in both fall and winter semesters Successfully complete a minimum of two classroom theater courses during the year Maintain at least a 2.0 G.P.A. overall in his/her course(s) at Muskegon Community College Perform in or work crew for at least one Center for Theater production in both fall and winter semesters Participate in recruiting events held by the Center for Theater Complete a yearly review of your participation in the theater department with the Director of the Center for Theater
