WASHINGTON, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- FairTax.org will be
"raising the roof" once again at the Iowa Straw Poll in Ames on Saturday, August
11th with nationally known speakers, elected officials, presidential candidates,
and plenty of free food on hand and musical entertainment by famed country
western star Mel McDaniel.
The FairTax campaign first hosts a FairTax program at 10:30 a.m. at Stephens
Auditorium on the straw poll grounds at the sports complex at Iowa State
University. Iowa Representative Steve King, Representative John Linder
(FairTax legislative sponsor), talk show star Neal Boortz, noted FairTax advocate
and celebrity Herman Cain, and FairTax.org's Ken Hoagland will preview winning
video "commercials" by Iowans recently taped during a 25-city FairTax bus tour.
A winner will be picked later in the day. Plenty of food and FairTax gear will be
available. Presidential candidates have been invited to meet with FairTaxers at
this event.
Later, national talk show host and FairTax advocate and author Neal Boortz
holds a book signing party at the FairTax tent (under the "Dare To Be Fairest
Wheel" and FairTax hot air balloon) from noon until 2:00 p.m. The first 500
Iowans attending the book signing will be given free copies of the best seller "The
FairTax Book," courtesy of FairTax.org
At 2:30 p.m. the main FairTax rally begins at the air-conditioned FairTax tent with
Boortz, Cain, Hoagland, Rep. King, and Rep. Linder and more food, music, and
entertainment as well as the unveiling of the FairTax video $1000 grand prize
winner. Past FairTax rallies have had the audience on their feet as the FairTax
"family" of thousands of supporters rallied for this needed wholesale replacement
of the income tax system.
Iowa sweet corn, plenty of liquid refreshments, and treats for the body, mind, and
spirit will be in abundance at this celebration of the power of the people to
change public policy. Camera crews and all those attending the straw poll are
cordially invited to use the FairTax "Fairest" wheel to get a bird's- eye view of the
Iowa Straw Poll.
