VEISHEA Activities Continue in Ames
April 19, 2007--Things are going to get a little loud today at Iowa State University,
as the annual spring VEISHEA activities continue. Tonight at 5:00, local bands
will compete in the final wildcard round of the Battle of the Bands. That takes
place in the Maintenance Shop of the ISU Memorial Union.
Also tonight, karaoke singers can test their vocal power with a live band backing
them up. Interactive live karaoke will start at 6:30 on the central lawn of
Frederiksen Court. Then tonight at 8:00, famous White House correspondent
Helen Thomas is speaking at Great Hall in the Union. She's the keynote speaker
for a "First Amendment Day" event.
