Hardy, Spicer & Company was formed in in 1925
Moved to new premises on the Chester Road in the 1956-58
Coincided with the development in 1956 of The “Birfield
(CV) Joint” and with the launch of the Mini which utilised
the CVJ in its FWD design
1966 GKN acquires Birfield Group
1970/80’s CVJ 5.5m pa / c.2000 people
1986 NMUK commences production of the Bluebird
